A timely Conference to explore the state-of-the art technologies in cancer research and treatment is about to take place. In the 21st century, we are witnessing amazing advances in technology, which are opening up new and wide vistas for biomedical research. Since cancer is a very complex disease, with an intricate interplay of biology, chemistry and biotechnology, the demarcation among these disciplines is actually becoming quite tenuous. Multidisciplinary nature of this conference therefore is by design to stimulate collaboration among the scientists. It also provides a venue for the interactions among the clinicians and the industrial experts to forge a partnership in this century. This Conference also provides an opportunity to medical students and interns to select a specialty. In this connection, they will meet pioneers in their disciplines, to compare research and clinically oriented technologies and to make wise choices in pursuing their professions.
